I’m currently practicing massage at a fitness center with employee hourly rate status, based on a 50/50 fee split with the owner. Every time we run a special, the discounted price gets passed on to me with a reduction of my hourly rate, which is a number of months out of the year that I’m earning less. And many clients will only book during sales, because now they’ve been conditioned.

Now, the owner has been approached by a member who’d like a monthly massage, to be deducted from her account automatically, at a discounted rate, and the owner wants to crunch the numbers. While I’d appreciate the increased volume of regular clients who’d take advantage of the offer, I’m certain the owner will want to pass on the discount to me once again. Full service at less than full service payment.

I have the use of the room. I pay for my supplies, do my own laundry, marketing, booking, record keeping, etc. Seems to me that I’m doing a lot, while she’s collecting money for use of the room, and administrative support that’s not extended to me.

I love my client base and don’t want to leave, but I’m growing resentful that I’m offering full service and all that goes with it on my end at a cost to both my finances and attitude.

Do other industries expect employees to earn less when they offer sale prices to customers, or is it just us? Anybody have any thoughts or real information to share?
Independent Contractor Paytag:massageprofessionals.com,2019-02-08:2887274:Topic:3759322019-02-08T15:57:12.782ZJeffhttps://massageprofessionals.com/profile/Jeff684

I heard that a lot of professional massage therapists work via beauty apps that connect customers to beauty professionals - services like iSALON App (isalonapp.com)

The platform allows you to set up your travelling range and plan your schedule as needed.

Have you had any experience working for the app as massage therapist and what you liked/disliked about it?

Thank you,

It occurred to me a while ago that the massage therapy may take a great advantage with some type of application by newly growing cannabis enthusiasm. Only thing is the complicated legal procedure to get thru the government.

Pretty soon somebody will develop a type of oil that contains the THC, or whatever that is for the substance of marijuana to relax human mind. I remember someone mentioned before about Hemp herbs extract being used for muscle relaxation. I really don't know yet…

I remember someone mentioned before about Hemp herbs extract being used for muscle relaxation. I really don't know yet what they are but this area is something we all need to look into and do some research.

I will put up some articles related to this at www.massagegrapespa.com soon so that we may be discussing more detail to help our business.

I would like some input on a situation. I've been negotiating to purchase a small Massage Clinic from someone who is retiring (retiring from ownership but will continue to do massages at the clinic as long as possible, he is currently 70 years old). They currently have 3 full time and one part-time massage therapist and then a few that only do one or two massages a week. I started there in April to begin building a clientele base. We're getting close to signing the deal but I have so many concerns that I feel like I'm about to walk away. And one of my main concerns is how I am not being given any clients from this Clinic (sounds strange doesn't it, you would think the current owner would do all he could to help me build a strong clientele base). Since April I believe I've been given two or three new clients I've retained two of them plus gotten referrals from those two. And I believe I've been given about two or three existing clients there weren't seeing any particular therapist regularly. We get about 10 or 12 new clients per month but they're not being scheduled with me. I have given them availability of a full day, plus one evening, plus at least one morning and a weekend morning per week. Last week I was scheduled with no clients. I started addressing this over a month ago and asking why I wasn't being scheduled with new clients and I was given the answer that I didn't have as much availability as some of the other therapists. There's really only one that has regular availability during the week. She got all but a couple of the new clients last month. I cannot understand that. And if this was my Clinic that I was trying to sell and had a very motivated buyer, I would facilitate him getting clients and building up a client base there. Which is why I can't understand why the current owner is not doing that and he is risking losing me is a motivated buyer. I would appreciate some input? I'm scratching my head asking myself what the heck am I buying if I'm not getting clients from this place.
Chair Massages for Law Enforcementtag:massageprofessionals.com,2017-10-26:2887274:Topic:3692242017-10-26T13:49:48.132ZLisa McCammonhttps://massageprofessionals.com/profile/LisaMcCammon

Has anyone found a scheduling program that :

Allows a client to book their own appointment online for a treatment involving two therapists?

Ideally it also books the treatment room.
