I am wondering if there is a special massage chair 'out there' for the comfort of seniors (the elderly / geriatric).

I know it is difficult for them to get up onto a table, also the fear of falling getting on/off. A regular massage chair can also be difficult or frustrating due to hip / knee pain. Trying to sit in a regular massage chair can be work :p

What do you do when working with capable seniors?

Thanks!

Sorry if this is a repeat, but my computer went a little crazy. In response to your question regarding chair massage for the elderly I would suggest, instead of using a chair, you use the "Oakworks Desktop Portal" This would be easier for the elderly client who may have bad knees or hips. Oakworks is not the only one who makes desktop portals so you can shop around and compare prices.
I work with the elderly and I agree with Joan.. I end up massaging wherever they can sit ...I use pillows to prop so they can get in the most relaxed position they are able to and still be safe and comfortable...
Joan, thank you! I have the desktop portal, but just didn't make the connection. Ah.. pillows.. wonderful, wonderful pillows.
Thank you!!
Yes there is. Get yourself a table top model. you have them sit in a low back chair and this automatically removes the stresses created by an elderly body jamming alll the body weight directly on hip, knee and ankle joints. You can purchase one for about $100 and you will find it goes anywhere.
