I've noticed lately there are a lot more group emails coming through
looking for various information, wanting to push a survey or service,
etc. Is there a way to "opt out" of these type of emails?

I wish people would rethink sending stuff like this because an accepted friendship request means I'm looking for a "friendship" not be pumped for information. I don't mind the group emails that are wishing a happy holiday, but it bothers me to see something in my in box that has nothing to do with a one on one conversation. and I would hate to have to "defriend" a person or be weary of "friending" someone new because of this.

To me...if there is something worth while to ask for or offer to a group than it should be and can be done through the forum...not our personal in boxes.

Lisa, I agree. I hate those emails too. The difference is, I have no problems de-friending someone cause of this. One warning is all they get. If they persist, they're gone.....or I just ignore any further communication.
I just got another. i wish there was an option in our profile that opts out of "group" emails.
I didn't even know there was a group email option... I guess I need to check out all the features here a little more, AND check my settings - is there no way to turn off receiving them?! I am thankful I haven't had any friends trying to spam my inbox!
Sorry to hear it's happening to you.
