I'm gonna be participating at a local health fair, we are going to be allowed 5 minutes for public presentation which I'm gonna do a power point presentation on the benefits of massage, I'm gonna do a door price for a 30 min massage at my studio, and I'm also gonna offer chair massage at the event, any other ideas???

Henry, thanks I will sure take my appointment book, and I will have a door price for a free 30 min. massage, and a tip jar as well :)
Parrafin Hand dip Station and a mini hand massage..
Hey all just seen the post and was woundering how did you get into the health fair and how do i get info on this. This looks good but never even thought about doing something like this. is it a good thing to do to get my name out there?
IMO, a tip jar at any function, whether it be free massage or otherwise is unprofessional. I would seriously reconsider if you're headed in that direction. You do all of these other things that says you are in a serious profession (powerpoint, biz cards, appt book, etc) and then you put out a tip jar. Two steps forward, one step back.
Henry, it all depends on how you want your biz to be perceived. Just my opinion. I've worked a lot of conventions (it's what I do) where the attendees pay for the massage. Most of them want to tip. I tell my people to be discreet about it....it's not part of the price but some people just like to tip. Same if you're giving away free massage. First of all, you chose to be there so the compensation should be a moot issue. You get to write off your supplies as a biz expense. If people want to tip, they'll tip...by putting the money in your hand, where you can thank them and slide it into your pocket. Give them a card and wish 'em a good day. This is just the way I've done it for 10 years and it works. Overall, I don't care if people tip or not....don't depend on it....wish it was never part of the equation.
Sabrina, this is something someone else started here in my town, is the second time they are doing it, they are more aimed to fitness which isn't my thing, so a friend of mine and I gonna start our own, hopefully for the fall :)
I like Luciana's idea of a self massage instructional - maybe you could have everyone get in a big circle and talk them through how to do a little neck and shoulder massage on the person in front of them. It would be them all involved, hands-on, and they could feel some work at the same time - you could have alot of fun with it.
Thank you all for the great advice, the fair was 2 weeks ago and I ended up not participating because it was totally not a health fair like they told me, but a fitness fair, that I wasn't interested on, they just worded the wrong way and even tough had to do with sports and I know that massage can also help athletes I don't work with athletes or do sport massage, so wasn't really what I was looking or hoping for :(
