I have been meaning to put together a massage workshop teaching some techniques for couples massage, but I have no idea where to start.... any ideas? How much will you charge? the space I have available is limited to probably 10 or less people ( 5 couples). Also I want to know if any of you have done this before, what would you teach and how? sorry but I'm clueless I just want an idea and I will take it from there.

Thanx

I am teaching one next month for our local community college. They have an algorithm they use for setting the price of continuing ed and it came out to $39. per person for a three hour class. I just plan to give them a basic full-body Swedish sequence, demo it and let them exchange under my supervision.
What a wonderful idea.
Sounds like a great idea, I will get things ready, I also want to do an infant massage class, but I will need a bigger space for that :)

I have done a class like that before. I generally only teach a certain part of the body. Like the back & then I will ask for a suggestion from them for one other part of the body (last time it was back & arms). Then I also show them how to work on each other's neck & shoulders in a regular chair.

I simply walked them through it showing them how they can do it comfortably & easily, and also giving them little "tricks" for at home (ex. an aid in relieving menstrual cramps, use a full, cold soda can to help relieve headaches).

I also explained how they can translate a table massage to a home massage (since most people don't have a massage table at home).

As for price & length of time, that all depends. I generally charge $40 per couple. Just factor in all the costs of holding a class like this (laundry, time, creme, electricity, etc.) and add however much you want to make as profit. Length of the class depends on class size, generally 1 1/2 hours - 3hours.

I hope this was of some help. Good luck!
