Hey All,

I just got through reading the thread about offering water and the whys. The age old myth of toxins being released from massage and getting flushed out with water afterwards has been debunked. However, I also just got through a 3 day workshop to be certified in cupping. And part of that was speaking about what the marks are when getting static cupping. Now I could be mistaken, as a noob to cupping, but I thought it was said that cupping pulls cellular toxins (among other things) to the surface, making it easier for the lymph system to get rid of it. And that the more severe the mark the more stagnation and toxins there are. Here's a quote I pulled:

Where there is dead, static blood, lymph, cellular debis, pathogenic factors, and toxins present in the body, Cupping can leave marks which indicates that the stagnation or disease has been moved from the deeper tissue layers to the surface, allowing fresh oxygenated blood to nourish and heal the underlying areas. Any suction device left long enough in one place will loosen and pull these agent out & up to the skin surface.

Sooooooo....what are the thoughts on this site about that? I'd especially love to hear from those that have done cupping for awhile. I have been impressed by the results I've been getting with cupping for my clients, however I do not want to spread misinformation that can lead to me seeming incredible.

Well, I just think toxins might be a wrong word..  Waist products of metabolism (whatever they are), would make more sense. To me anyway.
:)....that's all
