Lomi Lomi 2 Replies

I have been using my forearms to massage almost exclusively and am interested in learning Lomi Lomi. Has anyone else learned this modality and how did you modify it to fit ME's draping guidelines?

Maybe  someone from  within the staff of  therapist  would  be  willing  to step  forward  and  become  that  bridge  , ask  around  ,,, you maybe  surprised

Another thought  , work  through  your  clinic manager... we  are blessed  with  a  reall  good manager  ... who is  open  to solid  ideas

remember  , there  are  many  ways   to  improve  any situation

Like  Dannie   mentioned  ..  and  Darcy  .." speak  up "   ... if your  intent  is  true  ... things  happen

If  U  don't  get  the  answer you're  looking  for  , try  , try  again ... many doors may close  ,  before  the  right  may  open

we also ,  do not have  the new  shirts  ... and  that is  okay by  us .. wearing  gold &  white

peace & harmony to all  ... enjoy  the  day  before  us  .. it  truly is a  blessing  , to  be  working  as a  " Healer "

a  channel through which  the  powers  flow  ,

We don't have a lead therapist either. It would be a nice addition to bridge the gap between the therapists and the front desk/management.

We have no lead therapist in our clinic. The owner does not believe in them. We have asked him for a lead therapist and he says no to it.

As far as shirts are concerned I cannot say anything as we have not received our new shirts.  Still wearing the old Gold Shirts.

Hold on Folks ...I'm all for voicing thoughts & comments , lets do it in a postive & productive way , example is ... sounds like no one likes the new shirts ... cool ... get the facts and present it to some body who can do something about it
Blowing off steam on a chat line isn't going to solve anything
I'm just back from M E convention @ head-quarters /Arizona , what a wonderful time
Darcy , if U have something U would like to say to me , please do
Dannie , I appreciate your feed back / comments ...
My fellow therapist's voice their views with our lead therapist all the time , and she presents our issues to our manager , who then takes it to regional / owners etc etc ... life is good , good here in Madison
peace & harmony to all
sincerely

Dannie I so agree with you on having a voice here and airing our feelings. It is so wrong to tell folks to stuff their feelings and not say how they feel. That is what is wrong with America.

Katherine, yep the new gray ones. I am hoping they change
some from the mock ups we got.  In GA we
can no longer use the white ones = (and I liked them.  It seems that the new shirts hold onto the
sweat and even if you leave them for a day they start to smell, and hold on to
it!

David, there is negative and positive on here, and most of
the negative is about the corporate not the clinics themselves. Also this is,
for some, the only place to air their grievances and to get their feelings out.

Hello  all ,  hoping  everyone  is  having  an  enjoyable  week ? I  am   .. With  respect to all , seems  like  there  is  more  complaining  going  on  here ,  compared  to  positive  feed  back  .. Our  clinic  here  in Madison , wi  is  focused on  providing  a  wonderful service  to  all  of  our  clients  and  the  needs

 "  they  "  have

Negative  energy  is  not  allowed

peace  & harmony to  all  ,  enjoy  your  week

Dannie...Are you talking about the new gray shirts that are coming out in October? I hope they aren't stinky...that would be bad. I'm in Phoenix and it's like 113 in the summer. Right now our shirts are white and they are impossible to get clean, even soaking them in bleach for 2 hours. I had high hopes for the new shirts.

Darcy...your clinic told you that your clinic was number one in the nation? That's what they tell us at our clinic. hmm.

We have not received our new shirts yet so I have no idea. We are still wearing the gold shirts.

I met CG Funk last year at the World Massage Festival. www.worldmassagefestival.com She is  VP for Massage Envy. She knows there are problems with some of  the owners. She sent me an email and asked me to personally consider attending the American Massage Conference. I have met all the folks running it and I know too much and am not impressed with them. It is sad but the truth. Also Massage Envy and ABMP are hosting the Friday night meet and greet which is by invitation only and they are advertising in the Massage Today Magazine that they are serving Beer and Wine at that event. Just my thoughts only, Beer and Wine do not belong at a Massage Convention. It they want to take it out side to a resturant that is a whole different situation. But to have it available at the convention and advertise so, to me is so wrong. I did send Les Sweeny the President for ABMP an email letting him know I disapproved and how I felt about my membership dues being used to buy Beer and Wine to serve at a Massage Convention.
