Hi everyone!

My employer is interested in doing a Groupon deal for reflexology and is giving me the option of particpating. The service will be deeply discounted and I will make very little money. The ad will run for two weeks and the coupon expires in six months. I'd like to know your experience with this marketing strategy. I'm new to this workplace and would appreciate your feedback on whether to participate; and if I do, how to make sure that all these coupon holders are not sent my way.I want to ensure that the coupon holders are distributed evenly amont the participating therapists. Thanks!

@ Dave, Hi Dave! I really liked your post about energetic marketing. I do chakra balancing and I have been trying to come from the heart chakra and creating a loving, healing environment when performing all bodywork. I focus on holding a feeling of unconditional love for the client and honoring the divine spark in everyone. It makes a difference!

I had a great time at BizFit Live last weekend in NJ. I learned a lot and got some really good ideas. The energy in the room was so positive and encouraging. It's been a long time since I was around that many bodyworkers and I miss the comraderie and good vibes. I just upgraded my cell phone to a smart phone so I can take credit cards. I also ordered the Biofreeze gel sample cards cards customized with my business name and website and distributed them at a fitness walking group kick-off. My next step is to create my business facebook page and link it my website. I'm excited about all the possibilities!

Therapists from a record-breaking 8 different states came together to make the
Cherry Hill, NJ ABMP BizFit Workshop

an absolutely incredible experience!

Thanks to everyone for bringing (and sharing) your inspiration, creativity, and passion for what you do!  The community that was created that day will motivate all of us as we continue to build our practices as active business owners.  :-)

I look forward to hearing from you as you implement some new ideas!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas, David!

I love the idea of "energetic marketing."  Good for you to turn things around and bring clients to you when you've got a lull in your client flow - fantastic!

so much for my spelling and grammar in that last post.  Not a good marketing idea to write like that!

I am working through the packet of things to do to be BizFit, and I appreciated the workshop.  I do think a Niche is needed based on my marketing knowledge and am working on that, and there are hundred other little things to do. Because I work with the public doing chair massage a couple of times a week, I am interested in "coversational" marketing which determines if I am good fit for a particular chair massage client that I meet during my week.  There are many factors involved in determining this fit.  One basic one is whether or not they are looking for a massage therapist or not.  I think "closing" people is a thing of the past. In this case, asking them to book a table appt., although no doubt people will disagree with me. I believe we have entered a social media relational era or marketing; and, based on my experiences with chair massage in a busy location with their is much walk in traffic, there is something to "energy marketing" I daresay.  The other day after three hours of no one coming to my booth, and lots of people being around traffic-wise, I begin to imagine I was a healing fountain that people might notice take advantage of.  Within minutes, I got a customer.  She looked over at me standing quietly and pleasantly by my chair, her face lit up, and she walked over and got a chair massage for twenty minutes (five minutes before my shift ended).  This phenomenon also happened  last week when I applied the same idea.  Standing by the chair looking ready, pleasant, and also turning on the energy is some type of, shall we say, "subtle," marketing.

If you do chair massage try it. Rather than reading a magazine when you are not busy, look ready to go, poised, and generate positive energy.  See if your sales don't increase. It works for me.

The very best to everyone and their businesses this week.
