Very interesting about Steiner/Cortiva.    Steiner has a very different curriculum approach than Cortiva.

Cortiva is now or soon will be part of Steiner. What do you think of that?

Welcome home, Veterans! We know you are coming home to a very challenging job market. So The Massage School is offering full scholarships to ten returning veterans of the recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is another front in our war on economic injustice! If you know of any returning veterans in Massachusetts who would make good massage therapists, please have them call Alexei Levine at The Massage School, 413-529-2900. We have 2 campuses in Massachusetts, and class starts January 23rd. Please help us to get the word out about this, thanks!

Hello
My name is Gina. I am a travel agent and massage therapist.
I am setting up a group trip for licensed massage therapist that are looking to learn the Lomilomi technique in Hawaii this May 2012.
The course is 4 days in Hawaii and is credited NCBTMB. If you want more information, I will send a flyer to those that want it. I have also started a new facebook page to post information, classes and anything else therapist want to share. = fb name informed massage therapist

Also, some of the information stated about the NBC and their exams was incorrect at this meeting.

I like that the point of learning disability practitioners was broughtup in relation to taking required exams. Massage is an area where people with disabilities related to testing has been open to them. There are many older experienced MTs who have age as a disability to memorizing and retaining information for testing. State Boards should consider this and accept waivers based on experience. It shouldn't be closed. One problem witth requiring exams is that they are only available in English and therefor discriminatory based on national origin.

I am also wondering how many of us make more than a Medical Doctor. But even they are closing practices or joining HMOs because of the cost for liability insurance. Should government be deciding business decisions for us? If they require PLI they should be establishing minimum limits or it is meaningless. Protecting the public from harm by having standards does not mean guaranteeing insurance backed payment of claims afterward.
