massage and bodywork professionals

a community of practitioners

I live in SD where the flooding is happening after helping my friends empty out their basements and sand bag I was still feeling helpless  so I decided to try to get a group of my MT friends and do free chair massages.  I arrived at the sight feeling discouraged because NO one but me showed up.  I went ahead and set up,  I offered free massages to anyone in my community. I did have a tip jar out, and made a little, But the Biggest Pay Off came when a local news came out and  did a story on me, and ran it 3 times, at 5pm at 10pm and at noon the next day!  I did a total of 30 people in a 4.5 hr period and got more publicity then I could of EVER paid for!    The National Gaurds want me to come to their base and do specials for them.

This little act got me noticed more in one  day than I could do in 6 monthes.

awesome, congratulations. Big Hearts are noticed!
Helen this is great! Good will does pay off. I wish you all the success and keep giving from the heart. Thank you for sharing and feel free to share or start a discussion anytime.
No matter what makes sense to you and me, God can do a whole lot more with our obedience to him than he can with us in the middle of it doing what we want to do... I so admire you Helen for setting up anyway by yourself in what could have easily been a discouraging time and look how it paid off. Thats awesome... So happy for you... David

Helen, thank you for that nugget.  I to have to go at it alone and this encouraged me even more to keep doing what I am doing.  I will be doing my first Everybody Deserves a Massage Week in Evanston, IL at a Whole Foods Market to generate business for myself and get noticed.  Believe me I am just thanking God for the heart to even do my massage for charitable donations to Habitat for Humanity and YOU - Youth Organization here.  I will be doing it for three days.  I've asked friends, but because there is no pay to be gotten no one wanted to just give of themselves to the community.  I have a heart and love being a conduit and serving my community.  I also volunteer at our community hospital.  Help out at our soup kitchens as well.
