Spa Work: The Good, The Bad, The Beautiful
a) For your personal growth, spa work is as good as any other process. The experience you gain depends entirely on how you approach the big picture.
b) For your skill development, it is every machine in the gym plus nature hikes too. Spa work is definitely worth a stint, especially if you are just starting out.
c) For business development, it can be a treadmill, unless you have ownership. As an employee it can be a comfortable ride given the right remuneration and benefits package. As an IC it can be a great part-time job to help you pay the bills.
Features:
It can endure steadily over time, there is lots of variety in the food for thought menu, you get to stay as long as you're satisfied, tow the company line, or until your employers decide to let you go.
Assets:
A paycheck with your name on it, possibly health insurance, sometimes 401k, vision, dental. Often good tips and steady clients, sometimes no laundry, no calls, no emails, no marketing, no promoting, no overheads. And love it or leave it convenience.
Liabilities:
Anonymity, you help establish the brand identity of a third-party. Sometimes low pay and/or expensive buy-in to benefits. Sometimes narrow job description parameters and occasional twangs of replaceability syndrome.

My name is Gina. I am a travel agent and massage therapist.
I am setting up a group trip for licensed massage therapist that are looking to learn the Lomilomi technique in Hawaii this May 2012.

Last weekend's Live Certified Injury Prevention Instructor (CIPI) Workshop was a success! It was hosted by the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis, MN. And we were very happy to have lead therapists from major spas, including the Spa at the Hotel Hershey, the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa and the international trainer from Aveda.
