"You might be right, but from everything I've read lesewhere, there is very little pumping in the lymph channels, it's mostly moved along by skeletal muscle during everyday movement; that would explain why it gathers at the surface. MFR--…"

I was teasing anyway.  Sadie was a character on Al Capp's Lil' Abner comic strip, and in a movie too.
