"At this point, not enough. Our "standard" (ie, visitor) rate for tourists is $95/hr. Locals (and their friends and family) get a 20% discount, so that knocks it down to $76/hr. Package rates are even less than that--$71.25/hr. My…"

Sorry this has been sitting here without my seeing it. I don't usually comment on comments---people usually send me an email if they have a question. GA and NC both accept CE classes by people who are Approved Providers under the NCBTMB. North Carolina does not accept any equine or other animal classes, and I'm not sure about GA.

You can find Approved Providers in any state on the NCBTMB website at

Gloria teaches at Privai Academy and there are four other massage schools in Asheville that offer continuing education as well as my facility, which is about 45 mins away from Asheville.

Good luck,

I read your comment about the gratuity charge. OMG!

This is actually what provoked part of my survey. I am writing an article with the comments and statistics in hopes we can change some things or at least warn MT's of these to be aware of out there.

Hi Teresa & great family pic!

Would you please participate in a massage survey and tell your colleagues too? Thanks!

Please help me compile this information. I'd like more than a 1,000 if possible. Sure it is!
Your participation is MOST appreciated.
Remember you do not have to answer all the questions and Page 2 is "optional". Page two is for those employed only, NOT Self Employed! The survey company automatically includes Page 2 and I was unable to edit or delete. SO it IS OPTIONAL!
Pass it on to your colleagues too.

The intention is to publish this research to assist
Future LMT's, educators, employers and anyone else interested in the statistics of the massage industry!
I want to give you a voice to share your thoughts and experiences.

The Survey will end November 29, 2009
