Intro: Buck

Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile.

If you are experienced with energy-medicine, are in the San Francisco Bay Area and would like to participate in a small Reiki Research group, please visit my calendar on Meetup.com at www.meetup.com/Reiki-Technician-Institute. Each month we will meet to energetically explore a single meridian and experience ongoing Group Reiki attunements.

I practiced bodywork from 1993-2005. From 2002-2005 I rented a private treatment office first from a yoga studio, and then later (because my practice evolved into a medical massage practice) a private office located in a chiropractic clinic. I closed practice at the end of 2005 because of repetitive stress to my hands, and my primary focus today is energy-medicine, Reiki in particular. I began teaching Reiki in 1993, and by the summer of 2010 my first book about Reiki will be available in print.

The book is titled Reiki Technician™ Manual Volume 1: Medical Reiki. The book began as something that would be called "just another Reiki book," but as my Reiki practice in San Francisco grew, the book changed in a way that will hopefully help Reiki become more readily acceptable to Western Medicine.

The Reiki Techncian Manual

The book also grew in size. To keep the purchasing price to a minimum, volumes are being created. Each volume expands on the information in the previous. Volume 1 provides common sense knowledge that every certified massage therapist knows, but many who learn Reiki through instant-believe-you-got-it-and-you-do certificate programs do not.

The Certified Massage Therapist will most likely not find that element of the book useful, but what the CMT who practices energy-medicine may find valuable are the illustrations of hand positions for over 140+ ailments. The illustrations may also prove to be a useful communciation tool between the therapist and client.

The Reiki Technician Manual excerpt: Allergies

The hand positions are suggested starting and placement points for energy-medicine treatments, are inspired by Traditional Chinese Meridian Theory, my personal experience as a CMT from 1993-2005, and the experience of working with a regular group of Reiki students and practictioners since that time.

In addition to my Reiki practice in San Francisco and the book project, I am preparing to seek two college degrees: one in health science that will compliment my bodywork career, and the other in lingusitcs. At 43 years of age, I am a full time student at City College San Francisco taking accredited courses that can be transfered towards my degree goals at U.C. Berkeley or U.C. San Francisco (depending on where I am accepted... but I'm in no rush and have a couple more years of taking community college classes because of the double degree).
