Web site presence for Massage Therapists. Where are you?

What do you expect from your web site? That's if you have one. Are you wanting a web site that gives you credibility and attract new clients? Of course you do. These are two main points any massage therapist (MT) should be looking for.

First let's talk about credibility. I think we can all agree a web site gives you more credibility, than without a web site. In today's business world you’re really an unknown without a web site. If you’re unknown you really don't have as much credibility as you would with one. One of the first things anyone looking for a MT looks for, searches online and checks into your credentials, even in some instances where you've been referred. Those credentials should be posted somewhere online. They would also want to know about your philosophies as well. Do you specialize in on site massage, mobile massage, therapeutic, maternity and so on? WE all know massage is a very personal service, however today's world insists you have credibility and can back it up online.

Now let's look at why a web site attracts new business. Almost anyone now looks online to find anything from products and services, in our case massage services. How does someone find you online once you have your web site up and running? Search engines are the answer, can you say Google! Google has numerous ways to rank a web site, usage of the site, connections to the site and various other indicators. But site usage and connections are two of the higher indicators. Let's say a company is looking for an on site massage service for their employees. Do you really think they will pull out the yellow pages? Not a chance, it's straight to Google and they might type in something like workplace massage. If you don't have that online presence you don't have a chance at the instant access to all the employees at that company and the free rent that company offers you. Next you have to say workplace massage on your web site somewhere or you'll come up low on the search list. Connections show Google you’re connected. So how do you connect if you work on your own? Connect to as many other web sites as possible is how. Such as massage directories, local business directories and so on. Simple and easy. Get out there and connect.

Do you have a web site or do you want one? It would be great to hear from you.

Yes I have finally (about 10 months) got my website it took me long enough, why it took me so long Im not quite sure but it is out there and Ive had over 4000 hits since the first of the year. I hope it shows my audience/Massage and Bodywork Professionals/possible clients/ that Im there to help if I can in the ways that I have shown which is more ways than one. I do show support for different organizations on my web site which I do not mind, because at some point or other in there own way they have helped me. If anyone would like to share thoughts, about my site feel free I have nothing against being educated as well as bettering my site. Peace Travis
