massage and bodywork professionals

a community of practitioners

We need more bloggers in the massage profession! Laura Allen who recently mentioned that she is being told to calm down about the NCBTMB on Massage Magazine's blog because of the NCBTMB being an advertiser is just more proof that people need their own self hosted blogs so that they can start speaking their mind.

I am going to start collecting blog addresses and post some of them here and you can add your blog address too!

Blogging is a way to create discussions on various topics that we need to be looking at as a profession. These forums/blogs here are a great beginning!

Here is one of my blogs!

What do we need to blog about? Politics, building a business, explaining massage and how it works to the public to create a more professional image, massage research, evidence based practices, massage schools, massage continuing education...

Ok maybe it is just me being the infopreneur that I am need to blog about all that! Ha!

Here is my blog: http://www.massageblogger.com
It is mostly responses to questions asked from other massage therapists and people that have massage questions.

Hi Julie! Blogging is useful to get the word out, but also they are easy to update with fresh content that the bots can crawl. So a good reason to add a blog to your online presence is that it will eventually raise your search ranking.
I just also wrote a short report on how to use wordpress on a self hosted basis and set up you blog for Search engine optimization. It is really easy and Wordpress has a xml sitemap plugin which is essential to set up and then submit your site to SE.

Okay Julie, after reading your thoughts and ideas you've convinced me......I need to set up a blog. Thank You!
Most hosting systems will let you add a blog with just a few clicks using something called a Cpanel and fantastico installer. It is best to install them on the same server as your website. let me know if you have any questions.
