massage and bodywork professionals

a community of practitioners

Hello everyone! I am very excited to share that I have passed the NCE on the 31st of May, and I have been hired at Massage Envy on the 25th of May as well. It has been a week since I've been working, and I love everything about it.

Right now, I'm currently waiting on feedback about my applications to be licensed in DC and VA. My school, Everest College, was supposed to be sending them off and paying for the fees, but I would have to call and ask about today (which I will be doing in a few minutes of finishing this post -- although I will be going there later to get a massage from one of the seniors there).

So, to all of the veterans here :), what should be my next step? I've found a job, passed my national test, waiting for my licenses; what should I do as far as my career goes now? So far, I have been doing my own studying as far as what can massage do for persons with certain pathologies. Is there anything else I should be doing?

Oh, and just to be clear, I do plan on getting membership with AMTA for my insurance and such. I'm currently waiting to get my first paycheck to pay for that.
As an employee of Massage Envy, you get a discount through ABMP. I work at a Massage Envy location, as well as my own private practice.  Good luck with your career!  Remember to care for yourself so you don't get burned out.
