I work in the water and the Vibram 5 fingers are absolutely perfect for me there. I do wear them outside in the yard and garden a lot for I find they strengthen and stretch my toes and feet. I would not suggest wearing them as 'shoes' as I've seen in our community on the street. The provide excellent traction on carpet and on a yoga mat. Now when my yoga teacher says "Spread your toes"--I can smile inwardly as I know they are truly spreading--and I am gaining space for my little toesies all the time. I highly recommend them---and don't understand how they are potentially damaging (comment by Ezekial O'Brien 9/7/11). Perhaps he could explain? Thanks.
