Are you talking about SOAP notes or more of financial type records?

Hi, i would like to know about  RECORD KEEPING, I AM INTERESTED about this topic

i am the owner of The real thai massage,

Check with your state board.. I know in PA we are required to keep client information for 3 years past their last date of service.

I billed insurance companies for 10 years...As a massage therapist, in order to bill insurance companies I had to have a referral from a chiropractor or MD. for the number and frequency of the sessions... We had to keep SOAP notes, they were kept with the referring physicians records.  If you are not billing insurance companies....any notes or record keeping would just be for your personal needs.    Thats the way it was years ago when I was into that.

what do you mean record keeping, customers record, financial, and profit?

There is a great little book on starting and running your own business that I bought when I started my first business (electrical contracting )in 1986."Small Time Operator: How to Start Your Own Business, Keep Your Books, Pay Your Taxes, and Stay Out of Trouble! http://www.amazon.com/Small-Time-Operator-Business-Trouble/dp/09175...

It's written in an informal, humorous manner and clues you in to what you need to know about licenses, registering business names, employees, taxes, bookkeeping, etc.    Very useful!!
