"Weighty Issues"

During discussions here, I've met a lot of people who seem to have added a few pounds here and there. Of course, this is an epidemic. We all, at one time or another, have some extra weight that suddenly appears out of nowhere! That darn dryer is shrinking clothes again! One too many glasses of wine or a pint over the limit. Extra slice of Chicago style pizza anyone? GUILTY! I lost 80 pounds through sheer will and determination. I love to cook, I love to eat, I love food and family dinners, BBQs... you get the picture. I want this group to talk about it. Share your frustrations, gain ideas from others (not lbs), get healthy recipes, new ideas for work outs, anything that is a "Weighty Issue" for you. Please help me. I continuously need the motivation and inspiration to stay healthy. I know there are others out there too.

Click here and learn lots about Honey! from the nutrition page posted by Micheal Hinkle. I started drinking Honey water 2 days ago. 1 cup of warm water and 1-2 tsp. Honey throughout the day and before I go to bed at night. I have lost 4 pounds in that time frame. Went to the doctor this morning and the BP was 124/78. It is never that good. Usually 150-160's / 80-90's. Heart rate was 77. It is always over 100. Could this be from the Honey? I am going to continue and see what happens. I have not done the Honey cleanse yet. Thought I would wait until next week for that.

Thank you ladies. I forwarded on your input and hope it helps. I will pass along the Nutritionist's advice when I hear from her again!

Thanks Helen, I really am overdue for a physical, maybe I am having a hormonal problem.

I suggest having your hormone levels check. During menopause your estrogen and progesterone drop. Also, have your Vitamin D3checked as well. I recently started a natural plant base hormone cream from my PA. It's called the Wiley Protocol. You can read about it on the internet. Once your levels are to where they should be, it will help with the weight gain. I feel absolutely wonderful on these hormones!

Beats me, I gained 40 pounds during menopause and have yet to lose any of it. It won't budge!

I am hearing a lot about adrenal fatigue, especially if you have a very stressful life and who doesn't? I think you have to go off of sugar, salt, white flour and all stimulants. The first week is probably hell and I really cannot find the time to do this and still work three jobs. Maybe her nutritionist can shed some light on this issue.

This was sent to me by a friend. I would like some input to send back from all the ladies who have experienced this during menopause. Thank you.

I realize that size has little to do with how well someone can massage a person, but I think a lot of clients may have that prejudice. Like I said the larger girls where I work are perceived to be stronger, they are always booked up full, while the rest of them are struggling to get clients. Not a fair judgement of ability but that seems to be what is happening.

I have had some pretty stong petite ladies massage me.

This is a good discussion. Actually I am finding that it is the small, tiny in shape women that seem to get ignored at first. A lot of people seem to think that small women cannot possibly be strong enough to give a good deep tissue massage. Most men and some women go for the big husky girls. Where I work most of the girls are big and husky, and some I would even call "fat" I am not exactly tiny myself. I used to be in better shape but I will always be a big girl no matter what I do.
One client took one look at me and said oh good you look big and strong, that's what I needed today. That tiny girl I had last time didn't go the job. I know she meant it as a compliment to me and now how see how a normal sized smaller woman may actually be at a disadvantage in this field.

Any thoughts on that point?
