Lisa, my heartfelt sympathy to you.

Like Ty, my hair was much longer a decade ago.

I'm still around Marilyn. :)

Life has been tough and so I come on here and read mostly. a way to distract myself from my own woes. and just haven't really had the energy to contribute.

I continue to figure out the best course of action for my daughter. school is over so the triggers are less but she is still riddled with depression and impulses to hurt herself. had to go to court on Tuesday to battle the school as to the why's she has missed so much school. unfortunately all my documentation from hospitalizations and doctors couldn't even be reviewed by the judge without another hearing. talk about wasting our tax money. so now we have a new date in 2 weeks, which gives the school time to have "representation"...or another way to spend out money. apparently if we lose we can be fined up to $500 and my daughter may have to serve some time in a juvenile facility. cause that'll really help her mental disorder. in the meantime i am close to getting her into a longer term treatment center. long term here in TX means about 1-3 months. which is good cause any longer and i don't think i could send her. but she needs some very intense therapy right now.

yesterday to add salt to the wound, we had to put our beautiful 13 year old cat to sleep. he had been suffering from diabetes for about a year now. it was time. he lived an incredible life for sure. hailing from South Africa where my mom first cared for him. then he traveled on a boat cross the ocean to Brazil and then up the coast to come visit us in CT when my son was born. then mom and dad had him in an RV while they traveled the US and then finally, after a business opportunity presented itself to them, they asked that we take him in so they wouldn't have to put him in quarentine. He came to live with us in CT back in 2000. In CT he lived both inland and on the beach and then 2 years ago yesterday he flew with us to start our new life in TX. seems fitting that he left us on the same day, even though it should have been a day of celebration. I was happy that my mom and dad had come for a visit about a month ago and were able to see him again. his life really came full circle. perhaps that's why it was time.

so these days (esp. this week) has been very hard. my heart aches while i cope with the emptiness the house feels...even with 2 kids and still 3 animals. Pasha was one of a kind cat.

thanks all for keeping the rowdy room going without me. hugs to all.

L

Welcome, Alicia!

Well, the Poopsie update is, she was on the porch late last night, chowing down some kibbles...I believe she is living under the porch, or at least hanging around the house. That's good. She didn't seem the least bit freaked, she just sort-of sauntered away. Beats living under the piano, I would think! We're not anxious to have her living inside full-time, but once the weather turns, it would be nice to know she will still come indoors...otherwise, I will appeal to some friends with a cat-worthy, cozy barn.

On another note, I heard a wierd "gulping" sound outside this morning...it was coming from the baby wild turkeys in the yard! Five of them, plus (I assume) parents...so cool! Glad I got to see them before I had to go get my mammies-grammed at the clinic. On my errands this morning I also managed to discover that the local coney island franchise sells "bricks" of their famous chili, so I'll get to surprise my son-in-law with it at his fireworks party on Saturday (more on that this weekend) since it's his favourite and they don't make 'em like that in Chicago. Busy day for me tomorrow...yay.

Glad to have you aboard, Alicia!

To all, yes, the soccer player is having his own inner World Cup. Don't know who's winning yet, but I know that it's definitely not the Kidneys or Bladder. I go on Tuesday for another ultrasound. Maybe it will be one of those freaky 3D ones and I can post some pics.

What y'all been up to? I've been busy at three locations...and being in a resort/beach area, it's summertime. The tourists, vacationers and bikers are out in great numbers! Yaaaaaah-hooooooooooo!

Morning ladies, and gentleman? :) Up here in Beautiful Maine listening to my two dogs Freak Out about absolutely Nothing going on in the front yard. I think a rogue leaf dared wander without warning from the cherry tree and hit the herb garden. Not good. Bad Karma. :) They're protecting me.
Anyway! Just joined, and thought I'd say Hi before I had to hit the road for my chair massage client. HI!
