Ahhh...Thanks, Ty, you're kind to point out the silver lining...I'm afraid it's way more credit than I deserve, tho. I haven't been carded in a really long time, either--now that would be exciting!

Good idea!

From my "interesting and disturbing" file: While at the WMF I picked up a 2" round sticker from the MassageNerd table. It's kinda cute, with "Massage Therapist" spelled out in little hands...not bright or flashy. Last week, my daughter thought it would be good to put it on my Jeep, discretely in the lower corner of my back window. Over a four day period while driving in downtown Chicago, cars driven by men would roll down their windows and yell "Yeah, baby!" and also some really lewd things at me that I can't repeat here. Stunning! The city seems to have a really distorted perception about what massage therapists do...there was something in the news recently about the downtown authority wanting to place all massage studios near pubs & factories and get then out of retain areas. Sick.

Okay ~ so last week I had a really long day ahead and thought about taking some sort of lunch for myself as I rushed out the door. I grabbed a banana muffin and a plum since I didn't have time to make anything else. About 3pm with one more massage on the book to do, I went looking for my baggie of sustenance and couldn't find it anywhere! I knew I had put it into my bag on the way out the door...but no lunch for Mar. After that, I forgot about it until Friday, when I looked again, figuring it must have fallen out in the closet where I keep my travel things & used sheets, but nothing there. Well, here it is, Monday evening and I'm back in Chicago and I just found it in my purse (?!) squished to 1/8" and unrecognizable--honestly, it took me a moment, and it's just SO out of context. This getting-old thingy really sucks. Happy Monday to all of you, who still have your brains intact! (Oh, and the purse is fine because the ziplock didn't even leak.)

Thanks Ty, had a very quiet relaxing day, just what was needed.
Marissa, I agree with both Steve and Ty, as if that is any help!

Marissa, the before you bring in another therapist you need to decide whether you want your growing practice to continue offering clients the same kind of techniques and philosophy that you offer or if you want to offer clients more of a variety. Once you've answered that, then you'll know whether you need to look for a therapist that your clients will accept as a substitute when you're not available or if you need to look for a therapist who can provide techniques that potential clients have asked about but that you don't do.
