massage and bodywork professionals

a community of practitioners

Hello OR LMTs!
I am wondering how to go about contracting with work comp here. I'm getting the run around and haven't found the right avenue to get connected yet. Anyone?

Also, if anyone is billing med insurance, which ones are the best to contract with? Most fair compensation, easiest to deal with, etc.

Thanks so much!!
Jamie

Just joined. What a bummer you never got any response. Looks like a pretty quiet group. :-/

I do billing for MVAs, but haven't done any worker's comp claims. I'm not sure what the similarities/differences are. I know a therapist that MAY have some info on that if you're still needing it.

As for medical insurance, I'm on ASH, and am working through the credentialing process to get on with OptumHealth. They also cover HealthNet members, and as I understand, pay better than ASH.

Hope that helps some.

thanks, rachel. i was turned down by ash because i didn't meet some of their home office restrictions, however i contracted wth BCBS easily. i'll check out optumhealth, thanks! my understanding at this point is that we can't provide massage to WC claims unless directly working for a chiropractor...

cheers,

jamie

:: do you by chance have a contact or link to optumHealth?

Hi Jamie,

Sorry, not sure how/why I didn't get an email notifying me that you responded back.

Try this link: https://www.myoptumhealthphysicalhealth.com/logon.asp

At the bottom, there's links to go to their main website, though it seems more geared towards patients rather than providers, but there's also a contact link that has actual phone numbers, not just the form to fill in that is on the main website contact page.

For whatever reason, none of my existing HealthNet clients that I've been seeing and billing through ASH seem to be within OptumHealth network. Apparently, OptumHealth covers 95% of HealthNet patients, but SOMEHOW, all of mine are within the 5% that they don't cover. I don't know if that's a regional-issue maybe..?

So for me, it hasn't paid off all the time and energy at all yet. Maybe someday it'll be useful lol.
