Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows anything about St John Neuromuscular Therapy Seminars/ Healthquest Enterprises. I signed up and paid for a series of seminars scheduled to take place in August. I have since had problems getting in touch with anyone from the company. Emails and phone calls have not been returned and their clinic number has been disconnected. I am afraid that they have gone out of business shortly after they took payment for my seminars. Please let me know if you have heard anything or if you have signed up for any seminars with them. They are located in Pinellas Park, Florida.

Thanks.

Enya,
I have not heard of this Co. I'm assuming you live and practice in FL? Regardless, Use the myflorida.com web site to see if this co is a FL approved provider. You will be able to look them up under Department of Medical Quality Assurance. The board of massage therapy licenses continuing ed providers. This information should be on anything you got from them. Look them up using the options above. There may be different contact #'s etc listed than what you have. If not or if they don't seem to exist look at your bank statement to see what they are legally called. Look that up as well. You can file a complaint with the board of massage therapy directly from that site. I recomend that you do so as FL board take these things very seriously and will help you get resolution. Good Luck, Keep us posted, please
Thank you so much for this information. I actually live in New Jersey and was going to fly in for the seminars. It's more of a challenge to figure out what is going on since I am out of state. Thanks again.

I have heard of them Enya and used to know them VERY well. I, too, have not been able to reach the owner , a former colleague. So sorry to hear you are having this situation.
Thanks, Eric. The Pinellas Park Sheriff's Dept. on behalf of the New Jersey State Police have checked for me. I also found the woman that owns it. I tried to get in touch with her on Facebook. She only replied to me after I spoke with the realtor handling the sale of her home. Basically, I'm out of luck. She pretended to be unaware that I was not informed that the seminars have been "postponed." She will get to keep my money under the pretense that she will eventually have these seminars. There is no way that anyone else will be able to sign up for these seminars so it's clear that they won't ever happen. I've asked her for my money back so I can take the seminars with someone else to no avail. She shut her office down a couple of weeks after she took my payment so I know that it was her intention to defraud me from the start. Unfortunately, the police says that she didn't do anything criminal and my only recourse would be to sue her in small claims court. It costs $400 to sue her and I would also have to travel from NJ to appear in court. He realtor also told me that there are other people and banks after her so even if I get a judgement, I won't necessarily get my money back. Too bad. I took out a loan for the seminars hoping to amp up my practice.
Gloria, I'm still hoping to get in touch with this person. She's working in Pennsylvania and only has a cellphone. Please let me know if you have any information.
Thanks,
Enya
Enya, I am soo sooo very sorry to hear all this. I knew this woman many years ago. She was a client of mine, then a student of mine and then she went to work for Paul st. John. I haven't been in touch with her for quite some time. I would never have imagined something like this. I hope that she sees the light and refunds you truly!

Enya,
I'm sooo sorry to hear this. I had hoped things would turn out better for you.I don't suppose there's a way for the MT world to make this information more widely known. It wouldn't get your money back but it could prevent others from being ripped off. Just a thought....

I told NCBTMB, AMTA and ABMP about what happened. I also reported them to BBB, Florida Consumer Affairs, Attorney General of Florida and Florida Board of Massage. I'm hoping that other MTs that search them will happen upon this thread. I'm not sure if she's taking any more payments from others since all the St. John's numbers have been disconnected. I think I was the last person that she ripped off.

I seriously hope the massage organizations get word of this. I would hate to see them as keynote speakers or presenters at the conventions. :( :(

This is Randall Clark. I currently work with Paul St. John at Neurosomatic Educators. In 2004 Paul and I left St. John Seminars in response to some of the unethical practices we saw happening. We started Neurosomatic Educators and updated all of Paul's work. I have heard this type of story before and we have even set up a way for those who have been taken advantage of to take our classes at a very deeply discounted rate. Enya, if you wish to contact our office at 1-866-597-3772 and speak to myself or Nancy we will do what we can to help you. We have been battling this issue for the last 6 years and we will continue to work to keep the honorable reputation Paul has developed over the last 30 years. www.neurosomaticeducators.com
Thanks for the reply, Randall. I called your office when this first happened but the person that I spoke to said that you guys have nothing to do with them. She seemed rather put out by my call. I don't blame her since it is a pain to have to field questions for someone else's company.
Healthquest is still selling the old videos and I finally got hold of a working number through someone who ordered their dvds. They are offering me more dvds and a certification. The person I spoke to claims that he bought the company from Linda. He did not offer me a refund because he says that Linda has been putting her own money into the business and there just isn't any money. At which point, I corrected him by saying that it was not Linda's money but MY money that went into the business.
At any rate, I cut my losses and invested in classes with Judith Delany. She has been very generous with me and I see it as a blessing that I was duped by Healthquest since I have received a much better education from Judith.
Thank you for your reply and your offer of a discounted rate.
