Foot pain can exist in many areas, plantar surface, dorsal surface, deep, superficial, and can be caused by multiple factors.
Which modality would you use to alleviate conditions of the feet?

What kind of foot pain????
After experiencing a Lateral Ankle Sprain 3...I developed a well and compassionate understanding of foot and lower leg pain. Predominantly the two go hand in hand. So, whenever I am going to be working on the feet I always start with the knees and slowly work my way towards the feet. I like to create space around the knee and within the muscles of the calve. So I do myo-fascial spreading and holding techniques until is time to let go and move on. Than i use some neuromuscular and accupressure along the medial portion of the lowerlimb all the way to the soleuscalcaneous tendon where I like to slide deep into the heel and stretch..hold...and compress the entire foot and all of the clients toes. I use deep compression all along the plantar and when they jump...than I know to not let go ..I pause..ask if they are ok than explain the importance in us not stopping...if they allow and they usually do...I start again working softer and slower until the pain subsides. I love to create space between their toes and stretch while kneading along all joints. So far, I can rotate a foot, and I have been able to guess (or rather) know whenever a client has had an ankle sprain. At this point it has always turned out to be lateral and so I do extra spreading and deep palpating for the fibularis muscles. This is usually a little painful so work slow....and simultaneously hold and squeeze their foot while moving in and out of dorsiflexion and plantar flexion while spreading. This will help the tendon running along the tarsal bones and help stretch the muscle fibers creating overall better mobility....and therefore less pain in the foot. Finally... like Monica Leibacher LMT recommends...work with peppermint oil and they will love you forever...sheila jasmine
I like to Use ETPS Electric Acupuncture in combination with a lower leg.foot treatment to help with pain.
I personally use Active Isolated Stretching and strengthening but we need to be aware that even though the pain is in the foot it may not be the dysfunction but a symptom
eliminate the dysfunction you will eliminate the symptom
