Massage videos

I've recently added some basic massage videos to YouTube.  I teach the massage therapy program at Stark State College in Ohio. These videos are "lab notes" for the students.  If you need a quick review of basic strokes or want to see some different routines, check it out.  Just go to YouTube.com and type in "Michael Vahila".  All the videos will come up.  If you like it, subscribe to get alerts as new videos are added.  I hope they are helpful. Enjoy.

Michael, thanks for creating this group. I am starting the MSOM program at Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture in two days. It's nice to know this group is here for added insights that link the worlds of massage and acupuncture together!

Happy New Year Michael, I think a lot of therapists would recommend their clients for acupuncture if we knew more conditions and what we should refer them to you for. What specific issues, if we can't address, should we refer to an acupuncurist?

I had a friend that used it to help a therapist become more fertile and she was able to concieve. She had tried for years before going to him.

Hi Michael, and Happy New Year! I am a LMT who is also studying acupressure, Shiatsu, etc. I have been massaging both ST 36s for a while now, but didn't realize that percussion was better. THANK YOU SO MUCH for the info. I look forward to continued blessings, peace and prosperity in 2010.

As the year draws to a close, I reflect on the past year and am grateful for all the positive growth. It's time to set new goals and direction for 2010. I wish you all many blessings and grace in 2010.

Thanks Randy, It is a great idea if you have an acupuncturist near you to get a treatment just to get some first hand experience. Realize that, just like massage therapists, every acupuncturist brings their own personality and style to their work.
IN the discussion forum, I'll be posting practical tips that massage therapists can use.

I would really like to learn and experience acupuncture, even if i don't practice it. Just having the knowledge would help my massage a great deal!

There are many great books that give a good overview. Between Heaven and Earth, A Guide to Chinese Medicine, Harriet Beinfield and Efrem Korngold, Ballantine Publishing, is a great place to start.
