Well I have yet to join The California Massage Therapists Association.  Did not grandfather in as I thought they were not really treating those who have practiced more then ten years or longer to have fairness for us.  Sad all the work we do and taking of classes just did not seem to matter to this Association.  Then all the things they want from a therapist is really interesting including your tax returns.........................shocking!  I don't mind the finger printing, background checks and pictures being taken for any work that I do as a professional and as volunteer in a local hospital.

So I missed.  After all my taxes are in I guess I will just have to let them see what to me is very private information in the first place.

Thanks for you Post Carl W. Brown

I think to whole licensing/certification is a joke.  Like the MTBOK group that refused to actually define the minimum skills, knowledge and abilities needed for minimal competency.  They have two problems.  One is that talented people do not need 500 hours and other just never get it.  Ten there are people like me who are CMTs who do not do massage but other forms of bodywork that have very little to do with what most people thing of as massage.
