Hit this link, http://efullcircle.com/class-schedule/, to check out our live seminars!  This is a comment from a student last year:  "Small class size; Good students; Dawn was organized — loves her work; Also she allows time to work with you — She has the ability to adjust to help each of us; After the class she is there to support us and will allow us to email her and will help you."

Buy SMRT continuing education DVD's for multiple areas of the body and receive fantastic discounts!  Purchasing multiple DVD's gives you discounts of 5% to 25%, depending on how many DVD's you purchase.  DVD's may be purchased with CE's or without CE's attached.  Spontaneous Muscle Release Technique integrates beautifully with the other modalities you now use.  Whether your go-to modality is Swedish massage, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Thai massage, or Orthopedic massage (just to name a few!), SMRT will enhance your practice and allow you to achieve results faster.  Check out our website for more information, http://efullcircle.com/

Hello Everyone!

Have you ever heard of the Massage in Schools Program?

This is a fairly new program to the US. Although it has been very successful out side of the US for over 10 years.  We are working to bring this program mainstream in the US.

The concept is quite simple and yet profound.  MISP Instructors teach a 15 step routine of easy strokes to children to do on each other.  This can be taught  at public schools, after school programs, preschools etc-  it is primarily for children 4-12 but we just created a new program called mini- MISP for 3 year olds.

There is much more to learn about this program. Please check is out online at www. misa-usa.com or contact me directly.

We have an instructor training scheduled for February 8th and 9th in Denver, CO. $325.  I would love to see you there!

As I said before, simple and profound. This program brings more than just nurturing touch to children daily (which is awesome by itself), it begins the conversation of "touch education and nervous system regulation" in our society in a very public way.   I look forward to connecting with you- Allison

We're hoping for 8 Used Massage Tables for our New Training Center...

If you are a therapist that either has an older massage table you are not using - or, maybe you are considering upgrading your practice and buying a new table - your contribution of a used massage table would be a tremendous benefit to our operations.

Friends, it's time to celebrate our friend. We posted this on ABMP.com today:

Author, educator, practitioner, and researcher Elaine Calenda passed away the evening Friday, August 24, surrounded by friends and family. Elaine has been an integral part of Boulder College of Massage Therapy (BCMT) since she joined the faculty in January 1992. Prior, she graduated from the Swedish Institute in 1978 and gained clinical work experience at the Center of Osteopathic & Sports Medicine in New York City.

In June, BCMT honored Elaine with its Lifetime Achievement Award. In announcing her passing, her BCMT family wrote, “…our lives and the profession we all love will not be the same without Elaine. Her incredible presence in the massage therapy field, and her unparalleled commitment to the Boulder College of Massage Therapy, will never be forgotten.”

At BCMT she taught sports and orthopedic massage with infectious joy and humor, and served as academic dean until she stepped back to fight an aggressive form of cancer. Elaine contributed to the development of the Associate of Occupational Studies Program at BCMT and participated in multiple research projects.

Dedicated to the advancement of the massage profession, Elaine wrote for massage and CAM publications. She is a contributing author to the textbook Teaching Massage: Fundamental Principles in Adult Education for Massage Program Instructors, published by Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals and Lippincott Williams & Wilkins.

Elaine’s legacy and passion live on through her fellow instructors and the thousands of therapists she touched and inspired over the years.

A celebration of Elaine’s life is scheduled for Saturday, September 8, from noon to 3 pm at BCMT, 6255 Longbow Drive, Boulder, Colorado. Any condolences to may be sent to elaine.calenda.assistance@gmail.com.

Elaine Calenda Massage-A-Thon
As you may know, Elaine Calenda, BCMT Academic Dean and faculty member, was recently diagnosed with cancer. To assist with her medical expenses, Boulder College of Massage Therapy will hold a massage-a-thon the weekend of July 21 and 22, with all proceeds going to Elaine.
To sign up to be a volunteer massage therapist or to make an appointment to receive a massage during the massage-a-thon, contact Jill Brekken at jbrekken@bcmt.org.

Elaine is an exceptional individual and educator. Thanks for helping out!
