Hello Everybody! I have a couple questions for you: Do you provide makeup services to your clients or as a part-time business for brides and/or formal events? If you do provide makeup services, did you receive your makeup training as part of the esthetician program or did you take a makeup workshop/class separately?

Hi Korena -
Oh yes, this is always a strange time. Typically two weeks before school are very slow and it lasts until about 3 weeks after school starts. I think it's because people take last minute Summer vacations and for people with kids life is pretty hectic at the beginning of the year..
My last two weeks were surprisingly good - but this week, well, not so much.

Hi! Here lately things have kind of slowed down a little. People seem to be cancelling their appointments somewhat. I can't remember if this is normal for this time of year. What about everyone else?

Hi Everybody, How is the end of Summer treating you?

Hi Patricia and welcome!

Interesting that your area sees facials as a feel good, whereas,my area see massage as a feel good! Perhaps you could offer a mini-facial as an add-on to your massage just to give them a taste of what they are missing!

Hello everyone!
I started on this path more than 6 years ago with massage classes at a local community college (the first in my state to offer a massage program). While I was in the course, somebody hit me head-on while I was driving home from class. I wasn't severely injured, but one of my hands hit the door frame. As a 40-something, I knew that doing massage for the rest of my working life would be hard on my body, so I went through the esthetician program at the same school. A couple of years after I finished that, I decided that pedicures and manicures would be an excellent addition to the services I provide. So I completed the nail tech program. Right now I do massages, skin care (facials and peels) body waxing, pedicures and manicures. The most popular service is by far massages, with pedicures and body waxing about even for second. Facials are seen more of a "feel good" treatment in my neck of the woods.
I am looking forward to learning from everyone else in tis group.
