Hello - Could someone explain to me what an Affinity Program is and why I might or might not want to join one alone or in conjunction with contracting with an insurance company? I have a feeling that this is a loaded question and as a new therapist, I'm open to all of it.

Thank you,
Michelle

Affinity programs as far as I know are insurance plans that just want you to take a discount on your fees and people will pay cash for your massage services. I haven't seen any clients with these in my 20 years of doing business or had anyone ask about them ever. Legally I think I or other massage therapists can't tell you whether or not to join them or not. Just ask them what companies or insurance plans offer them and see how much of a discount they will make you take and figure out if it will be worth your while. Figure out your cost per client to figure that out.
