Alliance's Founding Member Campaign Extended to Dec. 31

The Alliance for Massage Therapy Education, a new independent non-profit organization for massage schools and educators, has been conducting a FOUNDING MEMBER CAMPAIGN. In just a seven-week period, this effort has generated $40,000 in contributions that will be used to launch the Alliance. The Leadership Team is pleased to announce that this campaign is being extended by one month, to December 31, 2009. This is in response to requests from a number of schools, CE providers and companies that needed additional time to take advantage of this opportunity.

Founding Members include:

SCHOOLS:
Atlanta School of Massage (Atlanta, GA); Massage Therapy Training Institute (Kansas City, MO); Palm Beach Academy of Health & Beauty (Lake Park, FL)
CONTINUING ED PROVIDERS:
Tom Myers (Anatomy Trains & Kinesis, Inc.); Yamuna Zake (Yamuna Body Rolling); Laura Allen (Thera-ssage, Inc.)
TEACHERS:
Emily Waltz (Downeast School of Massage); Franklin Merillat (Florida School of Massage); Beverly Johnson (Body Therapy Institute)
INDUSTRY PARTNERS:
Oakworks, Inc.; NCBTMB; Resource Etc., LLC (Christopher Alvarado & Angela Palmier)

These, and other dedicated individuals and institutions have stepped forward in a historic effort to bring forth an organization that will serve as the voice, advocate and resource for the entire massage education community. With an additional month in this Founding Member Campaign, all interested people are encouraged to go to the Alliance’s website at www.afmte.org for complete information on how to join.

Note that Founding Member contributions will apply to the 2010 dues in each of the membership categories. Those who join during this special campaign will have their names listed on a page on the Alliance’s website, and will receive a commemorative certificate that acknowledges their leadership role in establishing the Alliance.

The Alliance’s General Membership Drive will begin in January for the 2010 calendar year. Information on the dues structure, and the features and benefits of membership will be posted to the Alliance website by December 10. There will also be a special discounted package of membership with registration for the Alliance’s First Annual Conference, to be held in Park City, Utah on June 3-5, 2010.
