massage and bodywork professionals

a community of practitioners

Hi Everyone,
I need some advice. I am expanding my "day spa" from a one person entity to a three to four person. I have been able to offer massage, infra-red, dry heat sauna, paraffin treatments, and body scrubs and polishes.

I plan to expand to bring in more revenue, teach what I have learned and give my poor body time to recoup. I have specific questions for a spa owner and would appreciate any time that I can have with someone smarter than me about the change

Thank you,
Liz Lee

How exciting for you Liz! I remember when I expanded 22 years ago and discovered that there is so much that comes into play. One key element is to determine if you will be hiring employees, independent contractors or finding partners. I would assume employees, as that is where you will create income and profit for yourself. I would be happy to spend some time with you on the phone, 520-382-8888 ext #6. Some background on me - I started out as a massage therapist and built a multimillion, multi location business in Tucson, Az. I just signed two more leases and will be opening 2 more studios in 2011 to bring my locations to a total of 5. I also started an association so that I could help massage biz owners just like you in their growth process - www.iambiz.com is the site for more info.
