There were plenty of LMT's and Medics on hand. We were adivsed as to what to do in an emergency. The LMT's were able to do Pre and Post event Massages as well. The day before and the day after. Many of the LMT's were right there in the midst of the students making sure that everyone was doing as they had been trained to do. The Post Event we were doing during this time frame was 7 to 15 minutes *7 when there were two therapists present and 15 when there was only 1* Regardless of your training,…

I am a bit disturbed to see that MT students are in the majority at an Ironman Event. I have organized event Sports Massage and would only pick experienced MTs -especially if there are thermal injuries. I did one Ironman event years ago and it was the most exciting, draining, and exhausting event. I found that the level of distress among the athletes was exponential compared to a marathon or sprint triathlon.<br />

I know what you mean, Jennifer. I worked several triathlons , bike races, and just finished the Marine Corps Mar.in Wash. DC and the athletes are fun to work on and always appreciative of the treatment received .Next week is a 50 miler in Pa. Can't wait.
