While SBA.gov is a wonderful area to start, I found myself on information overload as well. Your state's regulations will also dictate what type of business you can form - sole proprietorship, LLC, PC, etc, etc. Sohnen-Moe puts out an amazing Business Mastery book that may help you decide what way you want to go in starting your business. I've started quite a few businesses, in 3 different models - Partnership, Sole Proprietor and most recently Corporation. I can tell you, that until you settle on the major details, it seems to get extremely frustrating. Just take your time. The SBA website will give you a bunch of info, but it may be easier to actually visit a local office and have someone sit down with you to discuss certain aspects. I certainly wish you luck in your endeavors, and if I can be of any assistance, please, do not hesitate to ask!</p>
