Where to begin...

I want to look at starting my own business as a therapist, but I don't know where to start. I'm on information overload from looking at the SBA website. This just isn't getting any easier. I really need to start making some moves now, we are running out of money. I recently lost a job at a certain massage chain. (no mention of names, but I think I was singled out) I feel like I'm running out of time. But then, time is all I have these days... Ah the hamster wheel of life.

Working in Chronic Pain

lately I've been thinking a lot about being a bodyworker with a chronic pain condition. I suffer from Fibromyalgia and I find that when I am working, I feel better. It's when I get home from work and attempt to relax that I am in the most pain. Most recently I had a flare-up that caused me to have to go home early from work one day. I am so tired of being in constant pain and being tired all the time. I have worked hard to not be labeled as disabled and I became a bodyworker because of my… Continue

Beginning

I'm still trying to figure out how I want to develop myself as an independent practitioner. It's an exiting and scary time in my life. I feel like I'm going through another right of passage into adulthood. This is a big one for me. You don't need a license to have a child, and getting the ones for marriage and driving are fairly easy. It takes a lot of work and dedication to become a successful business owner. Even if is it a small business. I'm still trying to find my niche. There are so many… Continue

Hello! I'm in the process of expanding my studio space in the Washington Park and Cherry Creek North area and am looking for other therapists in need of space to work from. Would anyone know of both massage therapists and estheticians who might be looking? Thanks for your assistance!

hi, kelly. I am Laura from MS. I also have fibro. and have had it for about6 years. I have found something that really works. It is called the b.e.s.t. unit. The Bio Electrical Stimulating Technique. You soak your feet in a foot pan of water, that has an electrode placed in there with your feet. The purpose of the machine is too energize and oxygenate on a cellular level. So you know nothing harmful to the body can live in an oxygenated environment. I do sell the unit and if you would like me to mail you a broucher with the information i would be glad to.
