A couple of articles were brought to my attention that serve as worthwhile reminders to be smart in our social media use. Massage therapists are required to be in compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulation…

Hey Christopher, a real question (just for the record, not bait ;->): Do you think there is such a thing as "placebo affect" and "psychosomatic illness"? This genre would also have to include "psychomsomatic wellness." Do you think that intention ha…

Beautiful. Congratulations to Rob for this work and to the Nepalese who've had the courage to change their lives. And thanks, Steve, for the video. Seeing the work really brings it home.

At the risk of taking the bait... why do these things--science and energy work--have to be mutually exclusive?

The purpose of this Group is encourage and inspire one another to remember what drives us as Massage Therapist and "WHY" we "LOVE" what we do? Enjoy:)

I still say....if you don't like the channel, either change the station or turn it off. It really is that simple. It doesn't take a whole lot of time to get "to the good stuff."

I agree with Choice. I welcome the new ideas and products here. I met a terrific LMT , bought her DVD and got a valuable massage and training from her personally that I also use in my massage. If it weren't for the introduction here I would not have…

Ellie, I'm not sure that your assessment is quite correct. I find quite a variety of topics, insights, points of views, discussions. Yes,you do have some people selling their stuff. I for one have bought a book from one of the therapists here and it…

Well, I obviously don't visit the right groups because my take on this site is that it is a place for massage therapists to try to sell their book, workshop, technique, video or what have you to other massage therapists. Actually, I haven't been a r…

Good point, Lisa. I think we need to do some redundancy control with the groups as well, as someone else also mentioned. I'll spend some time giving the organization a once-over and see what we can do to make it more efficient and user-friendly.

We've just implemented a new control that requires new members to fill out a "captcha" phrase--those warped "please type the following words into the field to prove your human an not a spam machine"--requirements that will hopefully weed out spammer…

Lisa, I really like this idea. It is getting more and more difficult to keep up with all the different groups. Merging the forum and groups would really simplify things. One stop to see and respond to the new posts for the day. I think it would also…

Hey Lara,

Would you consider changing the posting of comments in REVERSE chronological order, as done on blogs and email inboxes?

This would be much easier for folks to view the most current post rather than scrolling down and then clicking on multiple page number blocks located at the bottom.

I’ve plan on keeping the “Technology in the Classroom” discussion board active. This format change will help instructors keep up.

Just a thought.

Hi Lara,

I have a question. Did you design the functioning of the group pages? I think it is attributed to you. Wonderful in so many ways. :)
But, when there is a specific discussion and someone replies to a specific post, it starts to get really confusing. I know that I am not the only person who feels this way.
Can this be made easier to follow???
Thank you for all that you have done with these wonderful groups!

Lara--I just wanted to say thank you for developing this site. It is really amazing! I have seen so many wonderful discussions going on and have loved browsing, connecting, and reading. I shared the website with one of my chiropractic authors who is very involved in online offerings for that discipline; he loves it and is now excited to suggest something similar to the chiropractic community. Thank you, Lara!
