I'm a COTA and CMT and work at a hospital/clinic. The PT's at the clinic are great about suggesting massage as a benefit to clients if it is beyond their skill level or something they don't have time for in their treatment session. I guess to answer your question, I got hired on as a COTA and then we started the massage program shortly after. All the therapists have recieved a 30 min. massage from me so they are able to understand what I can do to help clients, if they were unfamiliar. I didn't really have to "sell myself" (for lack of a better term) to them they were very open to my addition to their current therapy. I'm sorry I've just babbled on, but if you have any further questions, please let me know.

Hi Everyone, it's been awhile since I've posted...had my computer die and had an interesting adventure replacing it and getting back online. So...how has everyone been doing?

I received an email today from the World Massage Conference. Evidently they are having a free seminar with Witney Lowe. I've signed up with the conference for two years now. I've enjoyed the teleseminar aspect and fulfilling my CEU's for an affordable price. Has anyone else done this? What do you think of the experience?

AMTA also sent me an email stating that their 2010 convention will be in Minneapolis, MN. Has anyone been to an AMTA convention before? What was it like?

I also joined Self-Growth.com. I haven't done much with my page yet. I have attended several of the free teleseminars put on by David Riklan. Is anyone else a member?

After a very quiet year, I am looking forward to renting space in a local physical therapy clinic. Has anyone worked with PT's before? From what I understand, I will be working as a sole proprietor from the location. But I want to build relationships with both the PTs and the Fitness trainer, something that would benefit all of us. Do you have any suggestions on how to do this?

No need to answer all my questions (unless you want to!). Thanks for your help everyone!

Hi Christopher, want to pass this along to you Complimentary Therapies in rehabilitation, written by Carol M. Davis. PT. I met Carol years ago in a Myofascial Release course and she is pretty amazing!! She very much values research and has been doing a lot of work around research and Myofascial Release. Thought you might want to check out her book Complementary therapies in rehabilitation

Hi! I have been working in the Massage Therapy and Bodywork industry since 2001, first as an office manager, then as a student of Reflexology, and finally graduating massage school in June 2003. I currently live in Central Wisconsin--Waupaca/Rural area.

I have worked with the Wisconsin Massage Licensing Coalition and have just finished a 3-year term as President of the Reflexology Organization of Wisconsin.

I look forward to networking with other massage therapists from Wisconsin. :)
