Recently I posted a discussion "Uniting On Facebook". Many of us have now added each other as "friends" as well as "fans" of each others business/personal pages. Congratulations on that show of unity and support of your fellow therapists!
Now, I am suggesting we unite our websites. Any takers? Most search engines have "crawlers" that scan the web. The more your website address appears in those "crawls" among other websites, the more visible you shall become.
If you are interested and have a "Favorite Links" page on your website, please add those that contribute their websites. If you are interested in gaining more exposure and do not have a "Links" page, please add one to your website and display your fellow MTs sites.
Remember: the more your website appears on other pages, the more visible it becomes!

The one thing about just cross linking is that your site starts to look unprofessional to potential clients if you are in GA and you are linking to someone in WA or something like that. It is better to get links from sites that are already ranked higher. Lower ranking sites don't count as much.
Actually better yet is to write a short article or bio and place your link on the page. If you have a particular type of massage that you do you can add it to my section on different types of massage and put a link to your site.
can use article marketing on my site www.massagecareerguides.com. Another key to linking is creating a link that uses the keyword like I just did rather than just the site...so if you are asking another site to add your link put the words 'massage, your city' to read in the link. That is called deep linking!

Better yet is to get links from chiropractors and other healthcare professionals in your area or from local websites too.

This page is not opening:Submit links to free directories such as the ones listed at www.strongestlinks.com. Look for higher ranking sites to link from. (PR 5 and higher recommended.)

Oooh--busted. Actually, and speaking strictly for myself, it's fear of putting together a website about myself. But I'm considering it. Really. This is a really good group-think, though, which I am using for motivation...so thank you. :o/

It actually isn't so much about getting the actual person to click on the link and get more traffic it is about getting search engines to notice you by having many sites link to you. It is one of the things that SE look for when ranking your site in the listings.
Linking to people you don't know and can't personally recommend as in you got a massage from them could also turn around and hurt you in the long run. There are much better ways of getting links to you site that I mentioned in my other post.
And just curious - what is the fear of putting together a website? Fear of being successful? of not knowing what you are doing? Just take it little by little. I have just about everything you need to know about setting up a site on one of my websites.
I am not sure why that link for strongestlinks.com isn't loading. I'll try to find my other source for link directories.

I'm glad people are getting involved and figuring out what works for them! That's all that this is about. Personally, I would rather send someone I know to a therapist I have contact with through here, than someone random from a phone book. Sally, Gloria, I'll get you guys next!

Yes that is what I said in my post before but you made it clearer...getting all those links to people you don't know and don't have good page ranks don't matter. Thats why I recommend getting links from link directories with good rankings or using article marketing
I am not sure if links here count because it is a members forum where you have to login to see the links (I think??)
