Insurance Billing

Any VA CMTs here currently billing insurance? I want to start, but first I have questions, mostly about things that would be specific to the state. I have a copy of Diana Thompson's very informative book Hands Heal, which is a great reference in general, but there are so many things that vary fromstate to state that I really need to find a practitioner located here who would be willing to answer questions and give advice. If you can help me (or refer me to someone who can help), please contact…See More

Regular calf spasm vs. DVT

I'd like some feedback on this. I am currently in the road with a dance company. About two weeks ago, one of the dancers came to me and said her calf was spasming onstage. It felt slightly warm to touch, but not hot, and was not discolored. We Kinesio Taped it for a few days until it started feeling better. The warm sensationwas gone the next day when I checked it again. I was cautious with massage on the calf in case it was a dvt, but it seemed to behave like just a minor strain over time.…See More

Kinesio Tape - Scope of Practice?

I am on my way to becoming a certified Kinesio Taper and recently completed Kinesio Taping Seminars 1 and 2. I found it fascinating before I attended the classes, and have learned that it has far more applications than I'd realized. However, I'm questioning whether some of its applications fall within the massage therapy scope of practice. Specifically, taping for lymphatic drainage. On one hand, it seems that if massage therapists are permitted to perform manual lymphatic drainage, a taping…See More
