Thanks for the replies, guys...I can see now how much it varies from state to state. How confusing that not all states can come together to make it easier by just making it standardized to one national test all across the board.

National is not acceptable everywhere. When I moved to Hawaii, they still made me sit for their state exam. This was about 9 years ago. I don't know if that has changed. So MT's need to check every state requirement before they transfer.
