CE -Because you want to take them or because you have to take them?

I have been doing some research on CE and am looking for info on why you take CE classes. I have a quick survey on my website that would help in giving me some info for my next online project - a CE Resource Center.

CE is needed in almost every state I think. The thing is that many take ce classes only because they have to and not because they want to improve their business. People find themselves taking classes at the last minute so they take whatever is available instead of what they really need.

The focus on technique classes is also very interesting to me. It is as if people are looking for that one technique that will solve all of their clients problems. People add techniques in a one day work shop to their business cards hoping to get more clients when it often takes really years to become proficient in many techniques - deep tissue is the first that comes to mind. ( I studied structural integration for 5 years.)

Currently with all of the changes happening in the massage profession, I feel that CE is more important than ever to help the profession grow and become more respected.

What do you see happening in the CE arena? What would you like to see happen?

What would you like to get from CE classes?

One of the things that I see lacking in CE classes are support for integrating the material into your practice and figuring out how to promote the work.
