Chair Massage at the local Market: Lesson Learned.

I have been trying to think of ways that would allow me to promote the opening of my new Clinic, as well as allow people to sample my services by giving some 10 minute chair massages.

There is a local Farmers market/Flea Market in the town where my clinic will be located, so thought this would be a great opportunity for some work and promotion.

My step-dad sells their regularly so he offered me some space on his stall to set up, and I brought with my a big pile of business cards, some… Continue

Waiting for my National Cert approval

Well, the time has come, I'm just over a week shy of graduating from School, and have already sent off the paperwork applying for my National certification Exam.
Does anyone know the average processing time for this at the moment?

I'm nervous, but excited, I hope I get approval and an option to book my exam real soon.
I can't believe i'm almost graduated.

My poor wee legs.

I'm training (again) for a half marathon here in April, just before I leave to head back to Scotland.

Over the last few weeks I've noticed some pain in my legs. It's predominantly my left leg, but just a little there on the right as well.

I saw my MT this past week and she confirmed that something funky was going on, so I decided to do some investigation.

It looks like I have a touch of Peroneal Tendinitis.

I need to get stretching and working on more immediate care for it,… Continue

My Shorty Awards Nomination for #Health

Thanks to some acquaintances I was lucky enough to be nominated for a 2010 Shorty Award in Health.

The voting is currently taking place and I am using this opportunity to try and create more visibility for Massage Therapy in the health industry and online.

If you could spare a few moments to vote for me, I would truly appreciate it. I would like to use this platform as a way to promote the health benefits of Massage, and increase the visibility of Massage Therapists in a social… Continue

Dealing with Skeptics?

As a newcomer to the Massage Therapy world, I’m overwhelmed by the benefits that can be afforded by massage. So when I hear of something that I know Massage can

offer a benefit for I’m maybe overly enthusiastic to recommend massage to assist.

Some people admit they haven’t considered massage therapy as a treatment before, but Ive noticed there are a lot of people who seem to consider the idea of Massage therapy being able to alleviate pain and/or symptoms as some kind of hocus… Continue

Hi Sally!

Would you please participate in a massage survey and tell your colleagues too? Thanks!

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=OhBtGlEETUWwi9h5olkCGQ_3d_3d

Please help me compile this information. I'd like more than a 1,000 if possible. Sure it is!
Your participation is MOST appreciated.
Remember you do not have to answer all the questions and Page 2 is "optional". Page two is for those employed only, NOT Self Employed! The survey company automatically includes Page 2 and I was unable to edit or delete. SO it IS OPTIONAL!
Pass it on to your colleagues too.

The intention is to publish this research to assist
Future LMT's, educators, employers and anyone else interested in the statistics of the massage industry!
I want to give you a voice to share your thoughts and experiences.

The Survey will end November 29, 2009

That's great that you'll be coming back :) Let me know when you do and we can meet up, maybe 'trade'! It's been FOREVER since I've had a massage. Which, as a therapist, is a major no-no. Kentucky is close to where I went to school. I went to school in Tennessee. Where in the UK are you from?

Hi I am not a KY, therapist, but I will be bringing the World Massage Festival to KY next June 17-21 in Berea, KY at Berea College. Hope you let all your friends know. Take care!
